Broward Performing Arts Foundation raises significant funds to support arts-in-education and community engagement programs during Frozen family celebration

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – The Broward Performing Arts Foundation recently hosted a magical Frozen-themed brunch, Winter Wonderland – A “Frozen” Family Celebration, to raise funds for the Broward Center’s arts-in-education and community engagement programs. The event, held in the Mary N. Porter Riverview Ballroom at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, offered families a chance to experience the magic of Disney’s Frozen while supporting the Center’s mission to bring the arts to the community.

The ballroom was transformed into a sparkling winter wonderland, complete with shades of blue and white, glittering décor, and whimsical touches that delighted both children and adults. Many families came dressed as their favorite Frozen characters, adding to the festive atmosphere. Guests enjoyed a royal-style brunch with a variety of foods, participated in creative arts and crafts activities, and danced along to music provided by a lively DJ. Face painting and a themed photo backdrop with a regal throne offered the perfect setting for families to capture memories of the magical day.

Before being escorted to the Amaturo Theater for the live performance of Disney’s Frozen, the DJ led a sing-along of the hit song Let It Go, with kids and parents enthusiastically joining in, filling the room with energy and excitement. The event offered a unique combination of entertainment, community engagement, and fundraising for a cause central to Broward Center’s mission.

For more than 40 years, the Broward Performing Arts Foundation has played an instrumental role in supporting the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Established in 1985, the Foundation was originally created to provide private funding necessary to build the Center and establish an endowment for its long-term sustainability. Since then, the Foundation has raised millions to support innovative programming, arts-in-education initiatives, community engagement activities, and critical capital projects. Notably, the Foundation completed a $30 million capital campaign in 2021 to renovate and restore the Parker Playhouse and previously raised $60 million for the Encore! capital campaign, which revitalized the Broward Center itself.

The Broward Center for the Performing Arts, recognized as one of America’s premier performing arts venues, presents more than 850 performances each year to over 600,000 patrons, offering a wide range of cultural programming and events. Its facilities include the all-inclusive Spirit Club Level, the Nicklaus Children’s Health System Intermezzo Lounge, and special event spaces such as the Huizenga Pavilion. The Center also operates innovative educational programs through the Rose Miniaci Arts Education Center, serving more than 100,000 students annually.
