Sunrise, Florida – Residents across Sunrise will see a mix of closures and adjusted schedules this Memorial Day as the city prepares to observe the holiday while still keeping several key facilities open for community use. City officials announced the special hours of operation for May 25th, aiming to balance remembrance with continued access to local services and recreation.

The City of Sunrise administrative offices will be closed for the day, along with the Sunrise Senior Center, Signature Sunrise, and the Theatre Box Office. These closures are part of the city’s annual observance of Memorial Day, allowing staff and residents time to participate in holiday activities and ceremonies across the community.

At the same time, many outdoor and recreational spaces will remain available, though some will operate on modified schedules. Parks throughout the city will stay open during their regular hours, generally from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., giving families and visitors plenty of time to enjoy green spaces, walking paths, and playgrounds throughout the day.

Several popular fitness and recreation facilities will also adjust their operating hours. The Civic Center Athletic Club will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., while the Civic Center Aquatics Complex will welcome visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Sunrise Tennis Club will follow the same shortened schedule, operating from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., allowing early-day access for players before closing in the afternoon.

Other community centers will remain open with limited hours as well. The SAC Multipurpose Center and the Village Multipurpose Center will both operate from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., offering residents opportunities for activities and gatherings before the early evening closure.

One of the city’s major recreational attractions, The Bridges at Springtree Golf Club, will continue to operate under its regular schedule, giving golfers uninterrupted access throughout the holiday. Officials noted that maintaining normal hours at the course helps accommodate both residents and visitors looking to spend the day outdoors.

City services will not be interrupted in the area of waste management. Garbage, recycling, and bulk trash collection will continue on their usual schedules, ensuring that essential services remain consistent despite the holiday observance.

In a message to the community, city officials expressed appreciation for residents’ cooperation during the adjusted holiday schedule. The city emphasized that these arrangements are designed to give both employees and residents the opportunity to observe Memorial Day while still enjoying access to local facilities.

“We thank the community for observing these special hours of operation so City of Sunrise employees, residents, and businesses all have an opportunity to celebrate Memorial Day while also enjoying their favorite City facilities and amenities.”

Officials also encouraged residents to take part in the city’s planned commemorative events, including the annual Memorial Day Ceremony. The gathering is expected to bring the community together in remembrance of those who served in the armed forces, offering a moment of reflection alongside the day’s recreational activities.

Residents are also reminded that full holiday schedules and additional details can be found through the city’s official holiday listings. With a combination of closures, modified hours, and continued services, Sunrise aims to strike a balance between honoring the meaning of Memorial Day and keeping the community active and connected.
