Town of Davie releases Local Mitigation Strategy progress report online
Davie, Florida – The Town of Davie has made its latest Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) Progress Report available to the public, giving residents and stakeholders a closer look at how the town is working to reduce risks from future hazards and strengthen long-term community resilience.
Officials announced that the report can now be accessed online at www.davie-fl.gov/LMS, allowing anyone to review the town’s ongoing efforts and progress in implementing its hazard mitigation goals. The update reflects continued planning and coordination at the local and county level to address potential risks before they become major problems.
The document highlights the town’s work in carrying out the objectives outlined in the 2022 Broward County Multi-Jurisdictional Local Mitigation Strategy. That broader strategy was formally adopted by the Davie Town Council in October 2023 through Resolution No. 2023-169, marking an important step in aligning local policies with regional disaster preparedness efforts.
According to town officials, the progress report shows how Davie continues to invest in initiatives designed to protect residents, businesses, and public infrastructure. The focus is not only on responding to emergencies but also on reducing the impact of future hazards through planning, upgrades, and preventive actions.
The report covers a range of mitigation activities and accomplishments, illustrating how different departments and agencies are working together to strengthen preparedness. These efforts are part of a broader commitment to ensure that the community remains better equipped to handle storms, flooding, and other potential threats common to South Florida.
While the report is available online, hard copies have also been made accessible for those who prefer in-person review. Residents can find printed versions at Davie Town Hall, located at 8800 SW 36th Street, as well as at the Davie/Cooper City Library at 4600 SW 82nd Avenue.
Town officials are encouraging the public to take time to review the document. They say it offers valuable insight into how mitigation planning is carried out and how resources are being used to improve safety and preparedness across the community.
Residents, businesses, and other stakeholders are especially urged to explore the report to better understand the town’s ongoing work. The information is intended to increase transparency while also helping the community stay informed about efforts to reduce vulnerability to natural and man-made hazards.
As Davie continues to grow, officials emphasize that resilience planning remains a key priority. The LMS Progress Report serves as both a snapshot of current achievements and a roadmap for future improvements aimed at keeping the town safer and more prepared in the years ahead.
