Broward Education Foundation launches Back-to-School Supply Drive to help students across Broward County start the school year prepared and supported

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – The Broward Education Foundation has officially launched its annual Back-to-School Supply Drive, beginning July 1, with a renewed push to ensure that students across Broward County return to classrooms ready for a successful school year. The initiative is aimed at collecting essential school supplies for students who may otherwise start the year without the basic tools needed for learning.

The drive focuses on supporting under-resourced students enrolled in traditional Broward County Public Schools as well as Title I public charter schools throughout the county. Organizers say the goal is simple but important, to help remove barriers that can affect a child’s ability to fully participate in classroom activities from the very first day of school.

Donated supplies will go directly toward equipping both students and teachers. Many educators often spend their own money to fill gaps in classroom materials, and this effort is designed to ease that burden while ensuring classrooms are stocked with necessary resources.

From pencils and notebooks to backpacks and other essential items, every contribution plays a role in preparing students for the academic year ahead. Foundation leaders emphasize that even small donations can make a meaningful difference when combined across the community.

The initiative also highlights the broader impact of community involvement in education. By coming together to support schools, residents help create a stronger learning environment where students can focus on their studies rather than missing basic supplies.

Organizers encourage individuals, businesses, and community groups to participate by donating items or hosting collection efforts. Collection boxes can also be requested for workplaces and community locations to make participation easier and more accessible.

As the new school year approaches, the Broward Education Foundation is hoping to build strong momentum for the drive and reach as many students as possible. The message behind the effort remains clear and steady: ensuring that every child walks into the classroom prepared, confident, and ready to learn from day one.
