Pembroke Pines invites families to explore trucks, emergency vehicles and heavy machinery at the 2026 Touch-A-Truck Vehicle Expo
Pembroke Pines, Florida – Families, children and anyone with an interest in big vehicles will have a chance to get behind the wheel, climb aboard trucks and explore emergency equipment when the City of Pembroke Pines hosts its 2026 Touch-A-Truck Vehicle Expo next month.
The free event is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way. The city says the event is open to all ages and is designed to combine hands-on fun with an opportunity to learn more about the vehicles used by transportation and public service workers.
Visitors will be able to get close to a wide range of vehicles and equipment that are normally seen working on roads, at construction sites or responding to emergencies. The expo will include trucks, emergency vehicles, heavy machinery, construction equipment and other transportation-related vehicles.
Rather than simply viewing the vehicles from a distance, attendees will be encouraged to explore them firsthand.
Participants can climb into vehicles, sit in the driver’s seat and see what it is like to operate some of the equipment. Depending on the vehicle, visitors may also have the chance to honk a horn or activate sirens, giving the event an especially interactive feel for younger attendees.
The expo will also provide an opportunity to meet some of the people who operate the vehicles every day. Firefighters and police officers will be among the personnel attending, allowing visitors to ask questions and learn more about their work.
Local and national transportation representatives will also be available for one-on-one interactions. For families, the event offers a chance to turn a typical weekend outing into a hands-on learning experience about the vehicles and people that help keep communities moving.
The city describes the Touch-A-Truck Vehicle Expo as both fun and educational. Children who are fascinated by fire trucks, police vehicles, construction machinery or large transportation equipment will have an opportunity to see those vehicles up close rather than simply watching them pass by.
Adults can participate as well, making the event a family activity rather than an event aimed only at children.
Admission to the expo is free, and parking is also free. The city is encouraging residents and visitors to take advantage of the event and explore the different vehicles on display.
The event will take place at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, giving attendees a central location in Pembroke Pines for the two-hour expo.
Anyone looking for additional information can contact the City of Pembroke Pines at 954-392-2116. More details about the event are also available through the city’s special events information.
Residents can keep up with other upcoming city activities through several of Pembroke Pines’ communication channels. The city offers updates through Pembroke Pines Media on YouTube and its NewsFlash digital newsletter, which is published twice a month.
Additional information is available through the city’s digital newspaper, City Connect, as well as the city website and digital signage. Residents can also follow the city on Facebook and through its Twitter and Instagram accounts.
For Comcast customers in Pembroke Pines, city programming is also available through Pembroke Pines Media on Channel 78.
With free admission, free parking and a collection of vehicles visitors can actually explore, the September 19 Touch-A-Truck Vehicle Expo is expected to offer a straightforward family outing with plenty to see and do.
The event will run from 10 a.m. until noon, giving attendees two hours to walk among the vehicles, meet the personnel who operate them and experience equipment that is usually seen only while it is working in the community.
