Town of Davie hosts Halloween Happenings with Police and Fire Rescue Trunk-or-Treat at Bergeron Rodeo Grounds
Davie, Florida – Families looking for an early start to Halloween celebrations can head to the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds later this month as the Town of Davie brings back its Halloween Happenings event along with a popular public safety Trunk-or-Treat.
The free community celebration will take place Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds, located at 4201 Rodeo Way.
Halloween Happenings will offer several activities for children and families throughout the morning and early afternoon. The schedule includes costume contests, live performances, train rides and inflatable rides, along with music from a DJ.
Local businesses will also participate by setting up informational booths and handing out treats to visitors.
Admission to the event is free, while food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Police and firefighters join the Halloween fun
Davie’s Police and Fire Rescue departments will once again hold their Trunk-or-Treat as part of the larger Halloween Happenings celebration.

Children of all ages will have an opportunity to meet local police officers, firefighters and other public safety personnel while collecting candy.
The Trunk-or-Treat will also include prize raffles and other activities.
Public safety vehicles will receive a Halloween makeover for the event, with participating vehicles decorated for the occasion. Visitors will then have an opportunity to vote for their favorite decorated vehicle.
Families planning to participate are encouraged to remember to bring their own trick-or-treat bags to collect candy and other treats during the event.
Costume contests include children, families and horses
Costumes will be another major part of the celebration, with competitions planned for children, entire families and even horses.
The family and children’s costume contests will begin at 11:30 a.m.
Anyone hoping to participate should arrive early because registration will close at 11 a.m., 30 minutes before the competitions begin.
Prizes will be presented in different age groups and costume categories.
Davie’s equestrian community will also get a chance to take part in the Halloween festivities.
The horse costume contest is scheduled to begin at 11:15 a.m., slightly before the family and children’s competitions.

The combination of traditional Halloween activities and Davie’s equestrian character gives visitors several different ways to participate, whether they arrive in costume, bring a decorated horse or simply come to enjoy the entertainment.
The Oct. 24 event runs for three hours, with activities taking place throughout the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds.
In addition to providing entertainment, the participation of Davie Police and Fire Rescue gives children and families a chance to interact with local first responders in a relaxed community setting.
Between the decorated public safety vehicles, candy, rides, music, live performances and costume competitions, the event will offer activities for a range of ages.
The Town of Davie is inviting residents and visitors to attend, with no admission charge required.
