Pompano Beach, Florida – Authorities in Broward County are urging the public to come forward with information regarding a fatal shooting that took place at a smoke shop in Pompano Beach on March 30. The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) has raised the reward for information leading to an arrest to a total of $60,000, hoping to generate leads in the case.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday, when Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a shooting in the 1200 block of East Sample Road. Deputies arrived at the Fire Up Smoke Shop and found 27-year-old Sayf Abdelaziz suffering from a gunshot wound. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to the scene, but Abdelaziz was pronounced dead shortly after.

According to investigators, an unknown subject entered the smoke shop and approached the front counter, brandishing a handgun. During the encounter, the suspect shot Abdelaziz before fleeing on foot. Authorities have yet to identify a suspect, and BSO’s Crime Scene and Homicide units are working to piece together the details of what led to the deadly shooting.

The reward offer is set to expire on April 3, 2026, giving the public a considerable amount of time to provide crucial information.
