Broward County, Florida – Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) will host its much-anticipated Evening Among the Stars celebration on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, to honor more than 100 students for their exceptional achievement of perfect attendance. This prestigious event, which will take place at Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, highlights the importance of commitment and consistency in education.

The ceremony will recognize students across all grade levels, from elementary through high school, who have demonstrated a strong dedication to their education by attending school every day. Students from elementary, middle, and high schools will be celebrated for their remarkable achievement. For elementary students, the celebration acknowledges 5th graders who have maintained perfect attendance from kindergarten through 5th grade. Middle school students, specifically those in 8th grade, will be recognized for their perfect attendance from grades 6 through 8. Meanwhile, high school seniors who have maintained perfect attendance from grades 9 through 12 will also be celebrated for their dedication.

One of the highlights of this year’s event will be the recognition of six outstanding seniors who have managed to maintain perfect attendance throughout their entire school career—from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade. These distinguished students will receive the prestigious Best-In-Class award, a remarkable honor that showcases not only their academic achievements but also their exceptional commitment to being present every day for their education.

“This event is an important occasion for us to recognize the hard work and perseverance of our students,” said a representative of BCPS. “Perfect attendance is a significant achievement that demonstrates dedication, responsibility, and a commitment to their future. We are thrilled to celebrate these students and their families for setting such a positive example for their peers.”

The Evening Among the Stars event is not just about the students; it also acknowledges the critical support provided by their families, guardians, and caregivers. The unwavering support of these individuals plays a pivotal role in ensuring that students achieve such a high level of attendance. “We believe that family involvement is essential to a student’s success,” the BCPS representative added. “This celebration is as much for the families as it is for the students, as they play an integral role in helping our students achieve such an important milestone.”

The event will take place at Blanche Ely High School at 6 p.m. on May 7, 2025, and all attendees will gather to honor the hard work and dedication of the students being recognized. School Board Members, district leadership, teachers, and administrators will all be present to congratulate the students and offer their support for the continued success of these exceptional individuals.
