Broward County, Florida – Broward County, a region in South Florida known for its warm weather and beautiful beaches, has recently emerged as one of the country’s top destinations for business expansion. As companies continue to relocate to Greater Fort Lauderdale, the county’s economic growth outpaces national trends, fueled by a combination of low taxes, a robust talent pool, and a business-friendly infrastructure. The county’s official economic development organization, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, has played a pivotal role in attracting new businesses to the area, particularly from states like New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey.

According to the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, many companies from these northeastern states have discovered the advantages of relocating their operations to Broward. The region offers a welcoming business climate that includes opportunities for public-private partnerships, collaborative support, and an innovative spirit that propels businesses to new heights. As Bob Swindell, the president and CEO of the Alliance, explains, “Greater Fort Lauderdale is the new frontier for business expansion, with all the right elements to prosper both in business and in life. We’ve cultivated one of the most business-friendly climates in the nation, offering public-private partnership opportunities, collaborative support, and an innovative spirit that catapults businesses to the next level. We’ve helped countless business leaders seamlessly relocate and expand in Broward, and the majority have only one regret: that they didn’t do it sooner.”

This shift to Broward County is not just about relocating offices; it’s about seizing new growth opportunities. The county is home to more than 200 corporate, regional, and international headquarters, including major players in industries such as aviation, aerospace, manufacturing, global logistics, life sciences, and financial services. These sectors have experienced tremendous growth in recent years, making Broward one of the nation’s most prosperous areas for economic development. According to Area Development, Broward County is ranked as one of the top two U.S. metropolitan areas for economic strength.

One of the most exciting developments in the region is its recognition as a Top 5 U.S. market for tech business growth, as reported by CompTIA. Broward is now home to prominent tech companies such as UKG, Chewy, Citrix, Future Tech, and Magic Leap, all of which are reshaping various sectors, from aerospace and defense to finance and healthcare. These companies are leveraging emerging technologies like cloud computing, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI), with AI expected to be a significant growth sector in the region in the coming years.

Bob Venero, president and CEO of Future Tech Enterprise, Inc., is one such business leader who took advantage of Broward County’s favorable business climate. After relocating from New York in 2021, Venero has watched his company, a global IT solutions provider specializing in AI technologies, grow exponentially. “Within the first four years of relocating our business to Broward, we’ve more than doubled our revenue and grown Future Tech into a half-billion-dollar company with operations in 37 countries around the world,” Venero said. “Beyond the tax savings, which is significant, Broward has a very strong and growing tech talent pool, as well as an unbeatable business-friendly climate, infrastructure, and highly collaborative business community, anchored largely by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance. We found all of the elements necessary to fuel our company’s growth in Broward. Not to mention, the weather is fantastic, and the people are just happier down here, especially our employees.”

The move to Fort Lauderdale has not only proven financially beneficial for Venero and his team but also has allowed Future Tech to flourish in a community that fosters collaboration. Venero credits much of his company’s success to the support provided by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, which leads South Florida’s TechGateway initiative. This initiative works to develop and recruit high-skilled talent to South Florida, ensuring the region remains a hub for the growing tech sector. “The Alliance’s commitment to attracting and supporting leading technology companies continues to play a central role in our success story as we look to further expand,” Venero added. “The fact that we’ve grown our business more rapidly in our first four years in Greater Fort Lauderdale than in our previous 25 years in New York says it all.”

Broward County’s economic growth is not just limited to the corporate sector. The county has seen remarkable gains in its job growth and labor force participation rates, which have continued to surpass the national average over the last five years. The county’s annual GDP is nearing an impressive $163 billion, solidifying Broward’s reputation as a thriving economic engine in Florida.

The region’s success in attracting businesses is not just about tax savings or business-friendly policies, but about the people who call Broward County home. With a growing, diverse talent pool, businesses in Broward have access to highly skilled professionals across various industries, from tech to healthcare and finance. The availability of top-tier talent is crucial for companies looking to stay competitive and expand their operations.

The robust infrastructure in Broward County also contributes to its growing appeal as a business hub. With access to top-tier transportation networks, including the Port Everglades seaport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, companies can easily conduct business both nationally and globally. This connectivity, combined with the favorable economic environment, ensures that Broward will remain a top choice for businesses looking to relocate or expand.

In conclusion, Broward County is becoming a beacon for business growth and innovation. Its combination of tax incentives, a highly skilled workforce, and a collaborative business environment make it an ideal location for companies across a variety of sectors. As more businesses follow the lead of companies like Future Tech and relocate to the area, Broward’s reputation as a thriving business hub will only continue to grow. For business leaders looking to take their operations to the next level, Broward County offers a future full of opportunity, growth, and success.
