A man was killed in a tragic hit-and-run accident on North Powerline Road in Pompano Beach early Tuesday morning

Pompano Beach, Florida – A man was tragically killed in a hit-and-run crash early Tuesday morning in Pompano Beach, prompting an investigation by the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit.

According to reports, the fatal incident occurred at approximately 12:53 a.m. on July 8 in the 600 block of North Powerline Road. Broward County Regional Communications received a call about a crash with injuries, which led to a rapid response by deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue personnel.

Upon arrival, investigators learned that the victim, an adult male pedestrian, had been struck by a vehicle in the southbound lanes of North Powerline Road, just north of Northwest Sixth Street. Shockingly, the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene, leaving the victim behind. Paramedics confirmed the man’s death on-site.

At this point, the Broward Sheriff’s Office is working to piece together more details about the vehicle involved in the crash. However, the driver’s identity and the vehicle’s make and model remain unknown. Investigators are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information to come forward.

This fatal incident has left the community shaken, as local authorities continue their search for the driver responsible. As detectives work tirelessly to locate the individual behind the wheel, residents are encouraged to stay alert and report any relevant tips that could help bring justice to the victim and his family.
