Sunrise, Florida – Families in need of groceries will have an opportunity to receive free food during an upcoming drive-thru distribution event in Sunrise. Hosted in partnership by Farm Share, Torre Fuerte Church, and the City of Sunrise, the event will take place on Saturday, August 16, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The distribution will be held at Torre Fuerte Church, located at 7800 NW 39th Street, and will include fresh fruits and vegetables, pantry staples, and essential grocery items—all completely free of charge.

Organizers say the goal is to help local families stretch their budgets and access healthy food during challenging times. No registration is required to participate. The event is open to everyone and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Stop by Torre Fuerte Church to pick up fresh produce, pantry staples, and essential groceries—all at no cost!”

This food drive is part of an ongoing effort to meet the needs of the community, especially as many households continue to face financial strain due to the rising cost of living. Farm Share, a Florida-based nonprofit dedicated to fighting food insecurity, has teamed up with local churches and cities across the state to make events like this possible.

Torre Fuerte has hosted similar events in the past, offering support to hundreds of families in the Sunrise area. Volunteers will be on site to load vehicles, making the event fast, safe, and convenient for all attendees.
