Fort Lauderdale, Florida – The Broward Education Foundation has officially announced that it is now accepting nominations for its 2025 Hall of Fame Awards, an annual celebration honoring alumni of Broward County Public Schools who have made extraordinary contributions to their communities, professions, and the field of education. This prestigious recognition aims to highlight the achievements of graduates whose dedication continues to inspire others and strengthen the county.

“The Broward Education Foundation has always been committed to supporting students and teachers across Broward County,” said James A. Knapp, President & CEO of the foundation. “It’s truly inspiring to celebrate the remarkable achievements of Broward County Public Schools graduates, whose selfless contributions continue to uplift our community, advance education, and make lasting impacts in their respective fields. We are proud to honor these exceptional individuals by inducting them into the Broward Education Foundation Hall of Fame.”

Individuals and community members are encouraged to nominate deserving alumni who have made a significant impact. Nominations are open until Friday, August 29, 2025, and can be submitted online at browardeducationfoundation.org/nominate. The awards will recognize outstanding accomplishments in three distinct categories. The Community Achievement Award celebrates alumni who have excelled in any professional field and positively influenced the community. The Education Achievement Award honors graduates who have dedicated their careers to public education. Finally, the Bravo! Award is given to those who have left an indelible mark on the local community through service, leadership, or advocacy.

The 2025 Hall of Fame Awards ceremony will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Fort Lauderdale Baptist Church. Honorees will receive permanent recognition in the form of large, engraved granite stars displayed on the BrightStar Credit Union “Walk of Fame” at the Broward County Public Schools District Office. Modeled after the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame in California, this permanent installation ensures that the accomplishments of distinguished alumni are celebrated for years to come.

Past honorees provide a glimpse into the caliber of individuals recognized by the foundation. The 2024 class included Torey Alston, President of Broward College; Sandra Veszi Einhorn, Executive Director of the Coordinating Council of Broward and Nonprofit Executive Alliance; Jamonica Rolle, College Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs at Broward College; Shawn Aycock, Principal at Pines Middle School and Boyd Anderson High School; Darrell Hardge, President of New Dimension International Training & Consulting; Paul Megna, a teacher at Cooper City High School; and LTC Kenneth Green. These alumni represent a wide spectrum of leadership, innovation, and service, exemplifying the foundation’s mission to recognize excellence across diverse fields.

By honoring graduates who demonstrate exceptional dedication, the Broward Education Foundation hopes to encourage current students to aspire to excellence and contribute meaningfully to their communities. The Hall of Fame Awards not only celebrate past accomplishments but also inspire future generations to pursue careers and endeavors that make a difference locally and beyond.
