Shenandoah Park playground will be temporarily closed from September 2 to September 17 for necessary maintenance and safety repairs

Davie, Florida – Residents and visitors planning to enjoy Shenandoah Park should be aware that the playground located near the park’s main entrance at 14601 SW 14th Street will be temporarily closed for maintenance starting Tuesday, September 2, 2025. The closure is scheduled to last until Wednesday, September 17, 2025, while essential repairs and upkeep are completed to ensure the safety and usability of the facilities.
“The safety of our visitors is our utmost priority, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by this closure,” Town officials said. The maintenance work will include general repairs to the playground equipment, inspections for safety compliance, and necessary upkeep to preserve the area’s overall condition.
While Shenandoah Park’s southernmost playground is closed, residents are encouraged to visit other nearby Town playgrounds. Alternative locations include Liberty Park at 13500 SW 8th Street, Oakhill Equestrian Park at 3100 SW 130th Avenue, and Owls Lookout Park at 2600 South Flamingo Road. These parks remain fully operational and offer similar recreational opportunities for families and children during the temporary shutdown.
Town parks, playgrounds, and restrooms across Davie remain open from 9 a.m. to sunset, with a few exceptions. Driftwood, Shenandoah, Waterford, and Waverly Parks close at 9 p.m., while Pine Island Park and the Bamford Sports Complex close at 10 p.m. The Town encourages visitors to plan their activities accordingly and to check posted signage at each park to avoid inconvenience.
For residents with questions or seeking additional information about park operations, the Town of Davie recommends contacting the Davie Park Rangers at 954-275-8504. Town officials emphasized that the temporary closure is a proactive step to maintain the safety and quality of playgrounds and recreational areas throughout the community.
“Maintaining our playgrounds and public spaces ensures that children and families can continue to enjoy these areas safely for years to come,” officials said. The Town of Davie continues to prioritize the upkeep of its parks while balancing accessibility for all residents.
