Deerfield Beach authorities offer a reward to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of repeat vandals

Deerfield Beach, Florida – Authorities are seeking the public’s help after graffiti appeared on city properties in what investigators believe are connected acts of vandalism. The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) is actively looking for leads as they work to identify the individual or individuals responsible.
The first incident was noticed on Friday, Aug. 8, when deputies in the Deerfield Beach district observed freshly painted graffiti on the portable office building of the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) located at 1601 E. Hillsboro Blvd. Less than three weeks later, on Tuesday, Aug. 26, employees from Deerfield Beach Parks and Recreation discovered similar graffiti on the Sullivan Park Drawbridge at 1741 Riverview Rd.
Detectives examining both sites noted striking similarities between the markings. “According to detectives, the graffiti on the bridge was consistent with matching graffiti on the CRA building,” officials reported. The connection between the two incidents has raised concerns that the vandalism may be part of a larger pattern or ongoing series of attacks on city property.
City officials and law enforcement are encouraging anyone with information about the incidents to come forward. Residents who recognize the graffiti or have any details that could assist in the investigation are urged to contact BSO’s Deerfield Beach district office at 954-480-4300. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the SaferWatch app, providing an accessible way for community members to aid authorities without revealing their identities.
For those who wish to remain completely anonymous, Broward Crime Stoppers offers multiple channels for reporting. Citizens can call 954-493-TIPS (8477), submit information online at browardcrimestoppers.org, or dial **TIPS (8477) from any cellphone in the United States. Officials stressed that tips which lead to an arrest may be eligible for a Crime Stoppers reward of up to $5,000.
The repeat incidents have sparked concern among residents and city employees, highlighting the ongoing challenges municipalities face with vandalism. While graffiti may sometimes be seen as minor property damage, city authorities emphasize that it can carry significant costs for repair and clean-up, and it often erodes the sense of community safety.
By offering a financial reward, law enforcement hopes to encourage witnesses or individuals with knowledge of the incidents to step forward. “Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a Crime Stoppers reward of up to $5,000,” officials reiterated, underlining the seriousness of the investigation and the city’s commitment to addressing vandalism swiftly.
As investigators continue to review surveillance footage and collect evidence from both locations, officials are urging the public to stay vigilant. Anyone with relevant information is asked to report it promptly, helping to ensure that those responsible for damaging city property are held accountable.
