Davie, Florida – The Town of Davie is now accepting applications for its housing assistance programs, offering critical support to residents looking to repair, purchase, or improve accessibility in their homes. The programs, administered by the Housing and Community Affairs Division, include the Home Repair Program, the Purchase Assistance Program, and the Wheelchair Ramp Program. Applications will be accepted through October 22, 2025, or until available funds are fully allocated.

Residents interested in applying are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible, as funding is limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. Priority is given to very-low and low-income households, as well as households with special needs, ensuring that the most vulnerable residents receive assistance first.

Applicants must either be current homeowners in Davie or individuals seeking to purchase a home within the town. Hard copy applications can be obtained at the Housing and Community Affairs Division office, located at 4700 SW 64th Avenue, Suite D. Digital applications are also available online at www.davie-fl.gov/HousingCA. Completed applications must be submitted via the locked drop-box at the division office between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Applications will not be accepted after hours or on weekends.

The Home Repair Program is designed to provide substantial financial assistance for necessary home repairs in owner-occupied housing units. Eligible residents may receive a maximum award of $70,000 to help cover costs for improvements that ensure safety, functionality, and habitability. The program aims to support residents in maintaining their homes and preserving the quality of neighborhoods throughout Davie. For additional program details and application instructions, residents can visit www.davie-fl.gov/HomeRepair.

The Purchase Assistance Program, also known as the SHIP First Time Homebuyer Program, offers significant aid to residents seeking to purchase their first home in Davie. Eligible applicants may receive a maximum deferred payment loan of $90,000, which can be applied toward closing costs, first mortgage reduction, and down payment assistance. This program is designed to make homeownership more attainable for local residents and to support long-term community stability. Detailed information and the application form are available at www.davie-fl.gov/PurchaseAssistance.

For residents requiring accessibility improvements, the Wheelchair Ramp Program, sometimes referred to as the Barrier Free Program, provides funding for the installation or replacement of wheelchair ramps on windstorm-rated mobile homes. Eligible households may receive up to $20,000 in assistance to ensure safe and barrier-free access to their homes. Interested residents can find program criteria and application forms online at www.davie-fl.gov/WheelchairRamp.

“This initiative is a vital resource for our community, helping residents maintain safe and accessible homes while also supporting those who are purchasing their first property,” said a spokesperson from the Town of Davie Housing and Community Affairs Division. “We encourage all eligible residents to apply early to ensure they can take full advantage of these programs before funds are exhausted.”

Residents with questions about eligibility, program details, or the application process are encouraged to contact the Housing and Community Affairs Division directly at 954-797-1173 or visit the town’s dedicated housing page at www.davie-fl.gov/HousingCA.

By providing these programs, the Town of Davie continues its commitment to supporting safe, accessible, and sustainable housing for all residents.
