Pompano Beach, Florida – The City of Pompano Beach and its Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) are set to host a series of Special Meetings on Wednesday, October 29, at 6:00 p.m. inside the City Commission Chambers at 100 West Atlantic Boulevard. The meetings will focus on several key items tied to the city’s Downtown Master Development Project, a major effort aimed at revitalizing the heart of Pompano Beach through new public spaces, infrastructure, and private investment.

City officials said the purpose of the meetings is to review and consider a range of resolutions and ordinances related to the ongoing redevelopment effort. Among the topics on the agenda are new elements proposed for the downtown project, amendments to the Northwest CRA Plan for affordable housing, and a first amendment to the Downtown Master Development Agreement (MDA) involving the City, the CRA, and RP Pompano, LLC, an affiliate of RocaPoint Partners, LLC.

Additional discussions will focus on a community benefits program, design concepts for the new City Hall and parking garage, and potential funding options for the project. These financial options include consideration of a master infrastructure bond and certificates of participation to help advance the large-scale development effort. Technical matters tied to the MDA, which are required to keep the project on schedule, will also be reviewed.

The evening will include three separate but related sessions. The Special Joint Meeting of the City Commission and the CRA will begin at 6:00 p.m., serving as an informational presentation about the Downtown Master Development Project. City and CRA representatives emphasize that this initial joint session is strictly for presentation purposes — no formal decisions will be made during that meeting.

Following the joint session, the Special CRA Meeting will convene at 6:00 p.m. or as soon after the recess of the joint meeting as practicable, followed by the Special City Commission Meeting at 6:15 p.m. or as soon after the CRA meeting as possible. During these two meetings, city and agency officials will deliberate and may vote on resolutions and ordinances presented for consideration. Public comment will be allowed as part of the proceedings, providing residents with an opportunity to share their perspectives on the proposed changes and funding plans.

With a focus on improving infrastructure, enhancing civic spaces, and attracting new economic opportunities, the project aims to create a vibrant and connected urban core that supports both residents and local businesses.
