Broward County, Florida – Broward County Public Schools is inviting parents of future kindergarten students to get a head start on the 2026/27 school year with an informative virtual event, Parent University: Welcome to Kindergarten. The one-night webinar will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., and aims to provide families with the tools and information needed to ensure their children are prepared for the first day of school.

The event will be led by District staff alongside members of the Parent and Community Involvement Task Force, who will guide families through the key steps and preparations for a smooth transition into kindergarten. Topics covered during the webinar will include the registration process, ways to prepare children during the spring and summer, and an overview of what students will learn in their first year. “Our goal is to make sure parents have the information and support they need to set their children up for success from day one,” said a spokesperson for Broward County Public Schools. “By attending Parent University, families can ask questions, learn about resources, and feel fully prepared for the exciting start of kindergarten.”
