Through a partnership between Visit Lauderdale and KultureCity, several beaches across Broward County have been recognized as sensory-friendly beaches, creating spaces where visitors who experience sensory sensitivities can enjoy the shoreline in a more comfortable environment.

As part of this initiative, Dania Beach now provides special resources designed to support children and adults who may become overwhelmed by loud sounds, crowds, or other environmental factors often found at busy beach locations. The program allows more people and families to experience the beach while having access to tools that can make their visit easier and more enjoyable.

One of the key features available at Dania Beach Ocean Park is a designated quiet zone. This area provides a calmer space where visitors can take a break from the normal activity and noise of the beach. The quiet zone is intended to offer a peaceful option for individuals who need a lower-stimulation environment while still being able to enjoy a day near the ocean.

Visitors who would like to use a sensory bag or access the quiet zone can find these services at the Dania Beach Ocean Park pink lifeguard stand, number 4. The location is near the yellow facility storage structure and south of the pier, making it easy for guests to find when arriving at the beach.

Officials remind visitors that sensory bags must be returned to the lifeguard after use so that other guests can benefit from the program as well. The shared resource system allows more families and individuals to take advantage of the accommodations throughout the year.
