Florida’s Margaritaville specialty license plate named top plate by ALPCA for 2025

Tallahassee, Florida – Florida’s Margaritaville specialty license plate has received a major recognition from license plate collectors across the country after being named the Number 1 license plate for 2025 by members of the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association (ALPCA).

The honor comes after ALPCA members nominated and voted on their favorite license plates, selecting Florida’s Margaritaville design as the top choice. The recognition highlights the popularity and creative appeal of the specialty plate, which was developed through a partnership involving several organizations.

Officials will gather in Tallahassee to celebrate the achievement and recognize the groups involved in creating and launching the plate. The event will highlight the collaboration between the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV), ALPCA, Singing for Change, and Margaritaville.

The recognition ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Neil Kirkman Building in Tallahassee. The event will take place in Conference Room A427, located at 2900 Apalachee Parkway.

Representatives from FLHSMV, ALPCA, Singing for Change, and Margaritaville are expected to participate in the celebration. A photo opportunity will also be available at the conclusion of the event, allowing attendees and media members to capture the milestone.

The Margaritaville specialty plate is part of Florida’s wide selection of specialty license plates that allow drivers to show support for organizations, causes, and communities while contributing to programs connected to each plate. Proceeds from Margaritaville plate sales benefit Singing for Change, an organization focused on supporting charitable efforts.

The partnership behind the plate brought together Florida transportation officials, a well-known lifestyle brand, and a nonprofit organization to create a design that represents both Florida culture and community support.
