Florida Lottery urges students to apply for Bright Futures before August 31 deadline

Tallahassee, Florida – With the new school year getting underway, Florida students who hope to receive a Bright Futures Scholarship are being reminded that an important deadline is quickly approaching.

The Florida Lottery is urging eligible students to complete and submit the Florida Financial Aid Application, or FFAA, by August 31. Completing the application by the deadline is an important step for students who want to be considered for Bright Futures financial assistance.

The Bright Futures Scholarship Program has been helping Florida students pursue additional education for nearly 30 years. The program is primarily funded by the Florida Lottery and has provided more than $9.3 billion in educational funding since its creation.

More than one million students have benefited from the program, using the support to pursue education at Florida colleges and universities as well as career and technical education programs.
