Pembroke Pines invites local dogs and their owners to the 14th annual Bow Wow Ween costume contest

Pembroke Pines, Florida – Dog owners in Pembroke Pines will have another chance to show off their pets’ personalities when the city hosts its 14th Annual Bow Wow Ween on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

The free community event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Officer Craig Rupp K-9 Dog Park, located at 9751 Johnson Street. The celebration is open to people of all ages and their dogs, with activities planned throughout the morning.

For local pet lovers, the event offers more than just a costume contest. Visitors can bring their dogs to enjoy the open dog park, while water stations will be available to help keep pets comfortable. Treats, giveaways and vendors offering dog-related products and services will also be part of the event.

The main attraction, however, is expected to be the series of costume contests. Dogs of all sizes are welcome to take part, with several categories giving owners plenty of opportunities to get creative with their pets’ outfits.

Costume contest applications are already open, and organizers have scheduled different categories throughout the morning. The first contest will begin at 10 a.m. with the selection of Mr. and Miss Bow Wow Ween.

The schedule will continue with the Funniest Costume contest at 10:15 a.m., followed by the Cutest Costume category at 10:30 a.m. Later in the morning, dogs and their owners will compete for Most Original Costume at 11 a.m.

The final costume competition is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. and will focus on Best Family Costume. The category gives families a chance to coordinate their outfits with their dogs and create a group costume for the competition.

Along with the contests, organizers say the event will include games, prizes and other activities for dogs and their owners. The combination of the dog park, vendors, giveaways and competitions is designed to make the morning a community event rather than simply a costume competition.

The city is inviting residents to come out with their pets and enjoy the festivities. Since the event is free and open to the public, no admission fee is required to attend.

Bow Wow Ween has become an annual event for Pembroke Pines, bringing local dog owners together for a morning centered on pets, costumes and community activities. This year’s event will continue that tradition with another full schedule of contests and activities at the K-9 Dog Park.

Pet owners interested in entering the costume contests can submit an application ahead of the event. Those planning to attend are also encouraged to note the individual contest times so they can arrive in time for the category they want to enter.
