West Palm Beach to host free startup workshop for aspiring business owners
West Palm Beach, Florida – Residents considering starting a business will have an opportunity to explore the process and build professional connections during a free workshop November 4 at the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach.
The City of West Palm Beach is partnering with the Florida Small Business Development Center at Florida Atlantic University, known as Florida SBDC at FAU, to present “Launching Smart in Florida: A Startup Essentials Workshop & Networking.”
Scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, from 6 to 8 p.m., the event will take place in the library’s Third Floor Auditorium at 411 Clematis Street. The program is intended for aspiring entrepreneurs, prospective business owners and startups in their early stages.
Attendees do not need to have an established company or formal business paperwork to participate. An existing business, registered LLC, business license and completed business plan are not prerequisites, making the workshop accessible to people who are still considering whether to pursue an idea.

The session will focus on foundational knowledge and practical guidance for starting a business in Florida. Networking is also part of the program, giving participants an opportunity to make professional connections as they consider their next steps.
The workshop welcomes people at different stages of preparation. Someone beginning to explore a potential venture can attend alongside an entrepreneur who has already taken initial steps toward business ownership.
By bringing guidance and networking into the same event, the city and Florida SBDC at FAU aim to help participants better navigate the startup process. The emphasis is on providing a foundation that prospective owners can build upon as their plans develop.

The partnership forms part of the city’s broader effort to support small business development and expand economic opportunity. Organizers say connecting prospective owners with professional guidance and accessible resources can help reduce barriers to business ownership and support sustainable economic growth.
Admission is free, and advance registration is encouraged. Interested participants can register through Eventbrite ahead of the November 4 session.
