Oakland Park’s investment in neighborhood identity continues with the installation of new monument signs designed to strengthen the city’s visual appeal and sense of place

Oakland Park, Florida – In anticipation of its centennial celebration in 2029, the City of Oakland Park is continuing its commitment to neighborhood beautification with the installation of seven new monument signs across various communities. These new additions, which reflect the City’s signature green color and feature the official City seal and neighborhood names, are designed to strengthen the identity of each neighborhood and foster a sense of pride within the community.

The monument signs are part of a broader effort to enhance the visual appeal of the city and make it more inviting for both residents and visitors. With the recent installation of these signs, Oakland Park is taking another significant step towards fulfilling its goal of building a more unified, aesthetically cohesive environment as it approaches its second century. Over the next few weeks, landscaping will be added around the signs to further improve their visual impact and tie them into the surrounding neighborhoods.

These seven signs can now be seen in multiple locations throughout Oakland Park, including the neighborhoods of Oakland Hills, South Royal Palm Acres, and North Andrews Gardens. The specific locations of the new signs are as follows:

• Oakland Hills at Prospect Road and NW 19th Terrace
• South Royal Palm Acres at NW 21st Avenue and NW 35th Street
• North Andrews Gardens at NE 3rd Avenue and Commercial Boulevard
• North Andrews Gardens at NE 45th Street and NE 2nd Avenue
• North Andrews Gardens at N Andrews Avenue and NW 57th Street
• North Andrews Gardens at Cypress Creek Road and NE 7th Avenue
• North Andrews Gardens at NE 58th Street and NE 9th Terrace

This latest project builds on last year’s success, which saw new monument signs installed in Tamarac Forest, Twin Lakes South, North Andrews Gardens, and Royal Palm Lake Estates. With the addition of these new signs, the City is further reinforcing its goal to ensure that each neighborhood in Oakland Park has a unique and welcoming entrance.

“These monument signs are more than just markers; they are symbols of our community pride and identity,” said City officials. “As we prepare for our centennial, we want to make sure our city looks its best and reflects the spirit of our residents. These signs will play an important role in creating a sense of place throughout the city.”

Not only are the signs a key element of the City’s beautification efforts, but they also represent a significant investment in Oakland Park’s infrastructure. The estimated permit amounts for each sign have been updated to reflect the actual costs incurred, ensuring that all installations meet local regulatory and safety standards.

Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to take notice of these new monuments as they explore the city. In addition to their aesthetic value, the signs serve as landmarks that help define the unique character of each neighborhood and contribute to Oakland Park’s growing sense of community pride. As the city continues to evolve, these monuments stand as a testament to its rich history and bright future.
