City of Sunrise, Florida – As Easter approaches, the City of Sunrise has announced a special schedule for several of its facilities, giving both employees and residents the opportunity to enjoy the holiday while still having access to many beloved community amenities.

On Sunday, April 20th, the City of Sunrise’s administrative offices will be closed in honor of Easter. This includes the Sunrise Senior Center and the Theatre Box Office, which will also not be open for the day. However, a number of other city-operated facilities will remain open under adjusted hours to accommodate residents who wish to stay active or take advantage of local resources during the holiday weekend.

Most parks in Sunrise will maintain their usual hours and remain open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., offering a great place for families to gather, take a walk, or enjoy the outdoors. The Bridges at Springtree Golf Club will also continue to operate on its regular schedule, giving golfers a chance to play a holiday round without any changes to their routine.

A few recreational centers, however, will operate with modified hours. The Civic Center Athletic Club will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., giving early risers the chance to get a holiday workout in. Meanwhile, the Civic Center Aquatics Complex will welcome visitors between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., providing a mid-day swim opportunity for families or solo swimmers looking to relax or exercise.

Sunrise Tennis Club, the SAC Multipurpose Center, and the Village Multipurpose Center will also be available to residents, all operating from 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. These facilities offer a variety of amenities, and their adjusted hours will ensure people have access while also allowing staff the time to celebrate the holiday.

Despite the closures and hour changes, essential city services like garbage, recycling, and bulk trash collection will continue without disruption. “We thank the community for observing these special hours of operation so City of Sunrise employees, residents, and businesses all have an opportunity to celebrate Easter while also enjoying their favorite City facilities and amenities,” reads the city’s official statement.

Residents are also encouraged to check the full list of city holidays for any future closures or hour changes throughout the year. And for those looking for some family-friendly fun, the city extends an invitation to attend the annual Royal Egg Hunt—a beloved tradition that brings the community together in the spirit of spring and celebration.

Whether enjoying the park, swimming a few laps, or taking part in a joyful Easter activity, Sunrise residents have plenty of ways to celebrate the holiday close to home.
