Oakland Park, Florida – As part of ongoing efforts to enhance the visual appeal and sense of community pride, Oakland Park is making significant strides toward neighborhood beautification. The City has recently completed the installation of seven new monument signs, marking a visible commitment to strengthening neighborhood identity as it prepares for its centennial celebration in 2029. These newly erected signs will serve not only as landmarks but also as symbols of pride for Oakland Park residents.

The new monument signs, featuring the City’s signature green color and the official City seal, are designed to help create a stronger, more unified identity for each neighborhood. Located in strategic areas throughout the city, these signs make it easier for residents and visitors to recognize Oakland Park’s vibrant communities. Each sign includes the neighborhood name, which further personalizes the city’s landscape and enhances its welcoming atmosphere.

The first wave of signs was recently installed across a variety of neighborhoods, including Oakland Hills, South Royal Palm Acres, and North Andrews Gardens. Some of the newly installed sign locations include:

• Oakland Hills – Prospect Rd and NW 19 Terr
• South Royal Palm Acres – NW 21st Ave and NW 35th St
• North Andrews Gardens – NE 3 Ave and Commercial Blvd
• North Andrews Gardens – NE 45 St and NE 2 Ave
• North Andrews Gardens – N Andrews Ave and NW 57th St
• North Andrews Gardens – Cypress Creek Rd and NE 7th Ave
• North Andrews Gardens – NE 58 St and NE 9 Terr

These monument signs mark the latest phase in Oakland Park’s mission to beautify the community and provide residents with a sense of pride in their neighborhoods. With each new installation, the City is ensuring that each neighborhood has a distinct and welcoming entrance that reflects its unique character.

Additionally, the project aligns with Oakland Park’s strategic priority to increase the visual appeal of the city as a whole, while also creating a sense of place for each neighborhood. By investing in these upgrades, the City is fostering a greater connection between its residents and the places they call home. The new signage also adds to the growing efforts to establish Oakland Park as a city where both residents and visitors can feel a sense of pride and belonging.

As part of the plan to enhance the neighborhood aesthetics, new landscaping will be added around these monument signs in the coming weeks. This landscaping will serve to further beautify the surrounding areas and reinforce the consistent aesthetic throughout the community, creating a more cohesive look for the city’s neighborhoods.

In addition to the seven new monument signs, the project builds upon last year’s efforts to install similar signs in other parts of the city, including Tamarac Forest, Twin Lakes South, North Andrews Gardens, and Royal Palm Lake Estates. With this continued initiative, Oakland Park is well on its way to ensuring that every neighborhood in the city has a distinctive and welcoming entrance.

“This initiative is a clear reflection of our commitment to community development and beautification,” said a representative from the City. “These monuments not only enhance the city’s infrastructure but also help build a strong sense of pride for the people who live and work here.”

The installation of the new monument signs is part of a broader investment in Oakland Park’s infrastructure, with the estimated permit amounts reflecting the actual costs incurred to meet regulatory and safety standards. The project demonstrates the City’s ongoing dedication to maintaining and improving the public spaces that residents value and rely on.

Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to take notice of these new landmarks as they explore Oakland Park, and City officials are hopeful that the new signs will further contribute to the growing sense of community in the area. With the addition of these monuments, Oakland Park is continuing to pave the way for a bright future as it prepares for its milestone 100th anniversary in just a few years.
