Tallahassee, Florida – Florida will soon celebrate the service and lifelong contributions of five distinguished veterans as they are inducted into the Florida Veterans’ Hall of Fame during a special ceremony at the State Capitol on November 6.

The five honorees make up the Class of 2025 and represent decades of military service and civic leadership. The induction ceremony, scheduled for 10 a.m. in the Capitol’s Cabinet Room, will be led by Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs (FDVA) Executive Director James S. Hartsell. Following the ceremony, the veterans’ names will be unveiled on the Florida Veterans’ Hall of Fame Wall of Honor, located on the Plaza Level of the Capitol.

This year’s inductees are Lieutenant Colonel Marlené Carter, U.S. Army (Ret.); Captain Robert Crippen, U.S. Navy (Ret.); Captain Stephen Petty, U.S. Army (Ret.); Lieutenant Colonel Alicia Rossiter, U.S. Air Force (Ret.); and Colonel Peter Tan, U.S. Army (Ret.).

The Florida Veterans’ Hall of Fame was established to recognize and honor military veterans who, after completing their service, have made significant contributions to the state of Florida through civic, business, or public service. Inductees are chosen not only for their achievements in uniform but also for their dedication to improving their communities and advancing opportunities for others.

FDVA officials said the ceremony offers an opportunity for Floridians to pay tribute to those who have gone above and beyond in both military and civilian life. “These distinguished individuals embody the values of leadership, courage, and service that define Florida’s veteran community,” said Hartsell.

Since its creation, the Hall of Fame has inducted dozens of veterans representing all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. Their names are permanently displayed at the Capitol to remind future generations of the enduring impact veterans have on the state’s history and growth.

As the nation approaches Veterans Day, the upcoming ceremony stands as a fitting reminder of Florida’s continued commitment to honoring the men and women who have served their country — and continue to serve their communities long after their military careers have ended.
