Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Drivers in Fort Lauderdale should expect road closures and heavier traffic on Sunday, September 6, as the city prepares for its Labor Day Festival at the North Beach Restaurants and Shoppes.

The festival will take place along NE 32nd and NE 33rd Streets, in the area stretching from A1A west toward the Intracoastal. With the event expected to bring visitors to the area, city officials are warning motorists to plan ahead and allow additional time for travel.

The traffic advisory will be in effect from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m. on Sunday. During that period, NE 32nd Street and NE 33rd Street will be closed from A1A to NE 33rd Avenue.

The closures are expected to affect traffic moving through the area for much of the day. Drivers who normally use the affected streets should consider adjusting their routes before leaving, particularly during periods when festival activity is at its busiest.

Officials are also advising motorists to expect congestion around the event area. Even travelers who are not attending the festival could experience delays as traffic is redirected away from the closed streets.

The Labor Day Festival is being held at the North Beach Restaurants and Shoppes, making the road closures an important part of the city’s preparations for the event. The affected streets provide access through the surrounding area, and the temporary restrictions are intended to accommodate festival activities.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to check their planned routes in advance and leave extra time if they need to travel near the festival site on Sunday. The advisory will remain in place until 11 p.m., after which the scheduled closure period will end.

The city is providing additional information about the festival and the traffic arrangements online for those who want to review the details before traveling.
