Pompano Beach, Florida – The City of Pompano Beach is offering nonprofit organizations a chance to partner with them in providing essential services to the community. From April 7 to May 2, the city will be accepting online partnership requests for the Fiscal Year 2025-2026. This initiative aims to enhance the well-being of residents by supporting programs that the city itself may not be able to provide directly.

Nonprofit organizations looking to apply must focus on programs that align with the city’s long-term Strategic Plan 2021-2036. The City of Pompano Beach prioritizes funding for initiatives that fall under two main categories: Workforce-focused Excellence and Community-focused Excellence. These two pillars serve as the foundation for projects that address critical needs and improve the quality of life for residents.

Workforce-focused Excellence: Supporting Economic and Educational Growth

The Workforce-focused Excellence strategy is dedicated to strengthening the local economy by equipping residents with the skills they need to succeed in the job market. This category includes workforce readiness and educational support for both students and adults in Pompano Beach.

• Workforce Readiness Programs: The city is interested in programs that provide vocational training, technical skills education, and job search assistance. Programs that help job seekers improve interpersonal skills, connect employers with potential employees, and support small business development will also be considered. Additionally, services that provide childcare and transportation assistance for working residents are highly encouraged.

• Educational Initiatives: The city is looking for nonprofits that support school readiness, turnaround efforts for low-performing schools, and closing the achievement gap. Programs that assist teachers, provide academic support to struggling students, and promote career pathway interest through STEM education, cybersecurity, and e-sports will be prioritized. Financial literacy programs that teach budgeting, insurance, and home maintenance skills to residents are also included in this funding category.

Community-focused Excellence: Enhancing Well-being and Cultural Heritage

The second funding category, Community-focused Excellence, seeks to improve residents’ health and preserve the city’s cultural identity. This includes behavioral health initiatives, senior services, and cultural preservation efforts.

• Behavioral Health Support: The city aims to fund programs that help residents struggling with substance use disorders, mental health issues, or co-occurring conditions. Nonprofits that offer treatment, recovery support, and violence prevention efforts will be given priority. Reducing hospitalizations, mortality rates, substance use, and criminal justice involvement are key objectives of this funding area.

• Senior Services: Programs that assist seniors in maintaining their independence and improving their quality of life will also receive funding consideration. Services such as transportation, meal assistance, support groups, and health-focused programs for seniors are essential components of this initiative.

• Community Events and Cultural Preservation: The City of Pompano Beach values events that drive economic growth, utilize the city’s beach and downtown as event spaces, and celebrate the city’s diverse cultural heritage. Nonprofits that support the preservation of historic sites and cultural expressions will be considered for funding.

How to Apply and Attend the Info Session

Nonprofits interested in applying for a partnership must submit their requests through the city’s website at http://pompanobeachfl.gov/community. To ensure organizations have a clear understanding of the application process, the city will host an online information session via Zoom on April 15 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

Given the high number of requests, the city has placed a strong emphasis on ensuring that funds go toward projects that align with its long-term strategic goals.

This initiative presents a significant opportunity for nonprofits to make a lasting impact on the Pompano Beach community. Organizations focused on workforce development, behavioral health, senior support, and cultural enrichment are encouraged to apply. Through these partnerships, the city aims to create a more inclusive, economically strong, and culturally vibrant community for all residents.
