Weston, Florida – Steve Goldstein, the voice behind the Florida Panthers for over two decades, has been selected as the Grand Marshal for the City of Weston’s 2025 Hometown Fourth of July Celebration Parade. Known affectionately to hockey fans as “Goldie,” Goldstein’s energy and passion have made him a beloved figure in the world of sports broadcasting. Now, he is bringing that same enthusiasm and hometown pride to lead the city’s most anticipated patriotic event of the year.

The 2025 parade, themed “Red, White, Blue and Weston Proud,” promises to be a celebration of both the nation’s birthday and the strong community spirit that defines Weston. For Goldstein, who has called South Florida home for many years, this is an opportunity to give back to the city he holds dear.

“There’s no better person to lead this parade than Steve Goldstein,” said a spokesperson from the City of Weston. “His deep connection to the community, his dedication to excellence, and his passionate love for Weston make him the perfect fit for this role. He’s been a significant part of our local sports culture, and his involvement with the Goldie’s Gang Foundation demonstrates his commitment to helping children and families in South Florida.”

Goldstein’s career as the play-by-play announcer for the Florida Panthers has cemented his status as a local legend. His iconic calls during Panthers games have become ingrained in the memories of countless fans, and his voice resonates with excitement every time he describes the action on the ice. As the Grand Marshal, Goldstein is now set to extend that same level of enthusiasm to the streets of Weston.

The Fourth of July parade will take place on the morning of Friday, July 4, 2025, starting at 10:30 a.m. The event is expected to be a vibrant, family-friendly celebration filled with festive floats, marching bands, and local organizations, all coming together to honor America’s independence. The parade will be a lively reflection of Weston’s strong sense of community and pride, with Goldstein leading the way as Grand Marshal.

“We’re excited to see our community come together for this special day,” said the City of Weston representative. “Steve Goldstein has been a part of our city’s fabric for so long, and it’s fitting that he will be leading the parade. This year’s theme—‘Red, White, Blue and Weston Proud’—captures the essence of our city’s spirit, and there’s no better person to represent that than Steve.”
