BSO detectives are urgently seeking the public’s help in locating 16-year-old Anthony Benitez who has been missing since May 20

Broward County, Florida – The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) Missing Persons Unit is reaching out to the community in search of 16-year-old Anthony Benitez, who has been reported missing. According to BSO officials, Benitez was last seen around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in the area of South Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach.

Authorities describe Benitez as a young male standing approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing around 140 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, and at the time of his disappearance, he was wearing long black pants with red stripes and black shoes. Despite ongoing efforts to locate him, Benitez’s whereabouts remain unknown, and his sudden disappearance has left family and friends worried.

BSO Detective Chris Blankenship is actively investigating the case, and law enforcement is urging anyone with information about Benitez’s location to come forward. “We’re asking the public to help us bring Anthony home safely,” said Detective Blankenship. “Any tip or piece of information could make a difference.”
