Pompano Players unveil an exciting and diverse line-up for their 2025-2026 season at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center

Pompano Beach, Florida – The lights are set to shine once again in Pompano Beach as the Pompano Players, the city’s professional resident theatre company, prepares for an exciting new season at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center. The Marvelous Wonderettes (October 10th – October 19th, 2025)

The season kicks off with The Marvelous Wonderettes, a hit Off-Broadway musical that will transport audiences back in time to 1958. In this delightful show, four high school girls—Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy—take the stage at their prom, serenading their classmates with some of the most iconic hits of the 1950s, including “Lollipop” and “Dream Lover.” The show then jumps ahead to their ten-year reunion, where the girls reflect on the ups and downs of the past decade. With over 30 classic songs from the ’50s and ’60s, The Marvelous Wonderettes is a joyful, nostalgia-filled experience that’s sure to warm the hearts of audiences.

Steel Magnolias (November 7th – November 16th, 2025)

Next, Steel Magnolias brings a poignant yet humorous look at the lives of a close-knit group of Southern women. Set in the beauty salon of Truvy, the women of Steel Magnolias share laughter, struggles, and life’s challenges, proving that strength and sisterhood can weather any storm. As the years pass, they face love, loss, and friendship in a story that is as heartwarming as it is humorous. BEEHIVE (January 9th – January 18th, 2026)

In January, the stage will light up with BEEHIVE, a high-energy musical tribute to the powerful female voices of the 1960s. Set against the backdrop of a changing world, this electrifying show features iconic songs from legendary artists like Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, and Janis Joplin. With 40 classic hits such as “My Boyfriend’s Back” and “Natural Woman,” BEEHIVE celebrates the music, spirit, and soul of an era that shaped the culture of an entire generation. This high-energy performance is sure to have audiences dancing in their seats.

First Date (February 6th – February 15th, 2026)

First Date brings a fresh and comedic twist to the traditional love story. In this fast-paced musical comedy, blind date rookie Aaron and bold serial-dater Casey embark on a hilarious journey through a chaotic evening at a New York City restaurant. With meddling exes, nosy relatives, and quirky inner voices brought to life through song and dance, this performance offers a lighthearted yet poignant exploration of love, chance encounters, and unexpected connections. Will Aaron and Casey’s awkward first date turn into a lasting connection? The answer awaits in this funny, heartwarming musical.

Boca (March 12th – March 22nd, 2026)

In Boca, the golden years are anything but dull. Set in the vibrant Boca Oasis retirement community, this sharp and spirited comedy follows a group of well-maintained seniors who are far from slowing down. With a mix of Botox, tennis, and plenty of drama, the residents of Boca prove that life after 75 can still be filled with excitement, laughter, and a few surprises. Side-by-Side by Sondheim (May 8th – May 17th, 2026)

The season concludes with Side-by-Side by Sondheim, a Tony Award-winning revue celebrating the unforgettable music of Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim. This elegant and heartfelt production features songs from iconic musicals such as Company, Follies, and A Little Night Music.
