Broward County, Florida – A Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) deputy was arrested on Tuesday following allegations of domestic violence involving his pregnant partner. Randall Saintilus, who has served with BSO since 2018, faces multiple charges including aggravated battery and criminal mischief.

According to BSO Special Victims Unit detectives, the incident occurred at approximately 7 a.m. on November 4 in North Lauderdale. Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a domestic disturbance, prompting deputies to respond to the scene. Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with Saintilus and the female victim, who is pregnant. Investigators determined that a verbal and physical altercation had taken place, stemming from disputes over Saintilus’ infidelity.

During the confrontation, detectives reported that Saintilus allegedly caused the victim to fall down a staircase, resulting in injuries to her back. The investigation further revealed a prior incident in which Saintilus reportedly broke the victim’s phone. Witnesses also shared information regarding previous domestic violence incidents involving Saintilus and the victim. The case remains under active investigation.

Saintilus was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated battery on a victim that the offender knew or should have known was pregnant and criminal mischief. He was booked into the Broward Main Jail and is currently placed on administrative investigative leave without pay.

“There is zero tolerance for domestic violence, and victims need to know that no one has the right to harm them,” said Broward Sheriff Dr. Gregory Tony. “I want those suffering from domestic violence to know that help is available, and victims do not have to suffer in silence. If you are in immediate danger, please call 911 for help.”

Saintilus, who was hired by BSO on July 30, 2018, had previously served in various capacities within the department. His arrest has raised questions about officer conduct and the importance of holding law enforcement accountable when allegations of domestic violence arise.

Law enforcement agencies stress that domestic violence can affect anyone, regardless of their occupation or status, and urge victims to seek assistance immediately. Broward County residents in need of support can contact BSO Victim Services at 954-321-4200, Women in Distress at 954-761-1133, or the Florida Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-500-1119.

The case has prompted renewed discussions within the community about domestic violence awareness and the critical need for resources and intervention programs. Advocacy groups emphasize that victims should be supported and encouraged to report abuse, and that timely police response can prevent escalation and protect lives.

BSO has confirmed that Saintilus’ administrative leave will remain in effect while the investigation continues. Authorities are reviewing all relevant evidence and witness statements to determine the full scope of the alleged incidents. Additional charges could be filed as investigators gather more information.

This incident serves as a reminder that domestic violence is a serious criminal matter that can affect anyone, and that law enforcement agencies are responsible for enforcing the law, even when it involves one of their own officers. The ongoing investigation underscores the importance of community vigilance and the availability of support services for victims of domestic abuse.

Saintilus’ arrest is part of broader efforts by the Broward Sheriff’s Office to maintain accountability within its ranks while ensuring the safety and protection of all residents in the county.
