Davie, Florida – The Town of Davie has made it easier than ever for residents to stay informed about waste collection and recycling services with the release of the 2026 Residential Solid Waste Service Guide, now available online at www.davie-fl.gov/SolidWasteGuide. The comprehensive guide is designed to provide clear instructions for curbside garbage collection, bulk pickup, commercial services, construction and demolition debris, and additional community programs such as shred-a-thon events and prescription drug drop-offs.

The guide also includes important safety information, such as flood hazard guidelines, ensuring residents are prepared for both everyday waste needs and emergency situations. Copies of the guide will be mailed directly to Davie residential homes, while the online version allows for easy access and quick reference throughout the year.

As a reminder to residents, “there will be no solid waste services provided on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day 2026.” For those households scheduled to receive garbage pickup on these holidays, collection will occur on the next regularly scheduled day. Residents affected by these blackout dates are encouraged to consult the respective zone maps for updated bulk collection schedules. Officials emphasized that there are “no significant operational changes for 2026” and that the guide is intended as a reliable reference tool for all households.

Curbside Garbage Collection

Residential curbside garbage collection in Davie is scheduled twice per week between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., with service days dependent on the specific zone in which a resident lives. The town is divided into three zones, each with designated collection days:

• West (west of Flamingo Road): Mondays and Thursdays
• Central (Flamingo Road to Pine Island Road): Tuesdays and Fridays
• East (east of Pine Island Road): Wednesdays and Saturdays

These schedules are designed to provide consistent and predictable service for all residents, while ensuring that city crews can efficiently manage collection routes.

Bulk Collection Services

In addition to regular curbside garbage pickup, Davie residents receive residential bulk collection once per month between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. To find the specific collection date for their zone, residents can consult the West, Central, or East maps available online or use the “Find Your Bulk Trash Date” feature on the town’s website.

For residents living in condos or multifamily buildings with dumpsters, bulk collection occurs quarterly on the following dates in 2026:

• February 5-7, 2026 (items must be placed in the designated area by February 4)
• May 7-9, 2026 (items must be placed in the designated area by May 6)
• August 6-8, 2026 (items must be placed in the designated area by August 5)
• November 5-7, 2026 (items must be placed in the designated area by November 4)

These scheduled pickups ensure that larger items and household debris can be safely and efficiently removed without disrupting regular residential collection routes.

Shred-A-Thon and Prescription Drug Drop-Off Events

The Town of Davie will also host three free shred-a-thon and prescription drug drop-off events for residents in 2026. These events provide a secure and convenient way to dispose of sensitive documents and unused medications. The scheduled dates are:

• February 7, 2026: Shenandoah Park, 14452 Shenandoah Parkway
• June 13, 2026: Pine Island Park, 3801 S. Pine Island Road
• October 17, 2026: Pine Island Park, 3801 S. Pine Island Road

All events are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., giving residents ample time to safely drop off materials.

Additional Waste Disposal Resources

Davie residents also have access to Broward County Residential Drop-off Centers for disposal of household hazardous waste (HHW), electronics recycling, residential bulk trash, and yard waste. While these services are free of charge, residents are required to bring two proofs of residency. Acceptable forms of identification include a government-issued photo ID along with a document confirming the official Davie address, such as a tax bill, TRIM notice, voter registration, or utility bill.
