Attorney General James Uthmeier announces felony charges against Central Florida woman for creating and distributing child sexual abuse material
Tallahassee, Florida – Attorney General James Uthmeier announced the filing of criminal charges against Taylor Michelle Dorsey, 33, of Ocoee, in connection with the creation and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and sexual abuse of a child over the age of 12. The Office of Statewide Prosecution filed eight felony counts against Dorsey, reflecting the severity and disturbing nature of the alleged crimes.
“The details in this case are gut-wrenching, and there is zero place for this kind of vile behavior in Florida,” Attorney General Uthmeier said. “I am confident in our statewide prosecutors’ ability to fight for the maximum penalty that fits these heinous crimes against children.”
The investigation began after the Florida Department of Law Enforcement received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which was triggered by a report from Yahoo. The report indicated that Dorsey had uploaded multiple files containing CSAM. Law enforcement officials quickly launched an investigation to determine the source and scope of the alleged activity.
According to the investigation, Dorsey not only created the illegal material but also sexually abused the victim depicted in the content. In addition, she allegedly shared the material with a federal inmate who was already serving time for sexual abuse of a child and possession of child pornography. This connection underscored the disturbing nature of the case and prompted swift legal action.
On December 10, 2025, authorities executed a search warrant at Dorsey’s residence in Ocoee. She was arrested on the scene and taken into custody. Dorsey is currently being held in the Orange County Jail without bond pending further legal proceedings.
The charges filed against Dorsey are extensive and include:
• Promote Sexual Performance of a Child
• Lewd and Lascivious Molestation
• Child Abuse
• Child Neglect
• Possession of Child Pornography – four separate counts
Assistant Statewide Prosecutor Lauryn Day will lead the prosecution in the Ninth Judicial Circuit. Officials have emphasized that the investigation remains active, and additional charges could be filed as more evidence is gathered.
Attorney General Uthmeier stressed the importance of holding perpetrators accountable in cases involving child sexual abuse material. The Office of Statewide Prosecution has prioritized these cases, seeking maximum penalties and ensuring victims receive justice. “There is no room in our community for this behavior,” Uthmeier said, highlighting the state’s commitment to protecting children and pursuing offenders aggressively.
The case against Dorsey serves as a reminder of the ongoing threats posed by the creation and distribution of CSAM, as well as the critical role of digital reporting tools and interagency cooperation. Federal and state authorities continue to collaborate to monitor and prevent the spread of child exploitation material, while also investigating cases that involve direct harm to minors.
As the legal process unfolds, Dorsey faces serious felony charges that carry the potential for significant prison time if convicted. Law enforcement officials urge anyone with information about similar criminal activity to report it immediately to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, reinforcing the ongoing community effort to safeguard children from abuse.
