Delray Beach man faces three drug trafficking cases after Boca Raton investigations

Boca Raton, Florida – A 24-year-old Delray Beach man is facing three separate drug trafficking cases after Boca Raton police say he sold cocaine, counterfeit Adderall pills and THC vape cartridges to undercover detectives during a six-week period this summer.

Gabriel Avi Rosenfeld, who works as a clerk at a cleaners on North Federal Highway, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on September 15. He remains in custody on a $175,000 bond.

The cases began in late July, when an undercover detective contacted Rosenfeld through a messaging app to arrange a drug purchase, according to police reports.

On July 23, investigators say Rosenfeld drove a tan golf cart from his apartment on Albatross Road to a Publix shopping plaza on North Federal Highway. Police said he met the undercover detective there and handed over 100 orange pills made to look like Adderall, along with 50 THC vape cartridges.

The detective paid $1,000 for the drugs, according to the report. The pills were later sent for laboratory testing, which determined that they contained methamphetamine rather than Adderall.

Rosenfeld was subsequently charged with trafficking in amphetamine or methamphetamine and possession of THC in liquid form.

The investigation continued into August.

On August 14, detectives say Rosenfeld arranged another sale, this time involving cocaine. According to police, an undercover officer purchased 29.8 grams of cocaine, just under an ounce, for $950.

Surveillance officers reportedly watched Rosenfeld leave the same Albatross Road apartment in a black BMW SUV. He then traveled to a shopping plaza parking lot, where the alleged transaction took place.

The cocaine was later submitted for testing, and Rosenfeld was charged with trafficking in cocaine.

The third case involved the Drug Enforcement Administration and again centered on pills that were being represented as Adderall.

On August 27, an undercover detective contacted Rosenfeld by text message and wrote, “im trying to scoop $2,000 worth of the Adderall.” Rosenfeld responded, “Yessir.”

Investigators say Rosenfeld later arrived at the same Publix shopping plaza in a white BMW. Police allege that he handed over 665 pills marked with the identifiers “b974” and “3 0” in exchange for $2,000.

Laboratory testing again found methamphetamine in the pills, according to investigators. That led to another charge of trafficking in amphetamine or methamphetamine.

Boca Raton police said an undercover detective identified Rosenfeld following each of the three alleged transactions. Although the third investigation involved the DEA, all three cases were filed under the Boca Raton Police Department.

The narcotics recovered during the investigations were sent to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Laboratory for confirmation.

Rosenfeld now faces first-degree felony trafficking charges related to the alleged cocaine and methamphetamine sales. The cases stem from transactions that investigators say occurred between July 23 and August 27.

The investigation resulted in three separate cases against Rosenfeld rather than a single charge, with each alleged transaction involving different quantities or types of drugs.

Rosenfeld was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on September 15 and remains held on $175,000 bond.
