Families in Pembroke Pines will gather for Pines Night Out to meet local police fire and community partners

Pembroke Pines, Florida – Pembroke Pines is getting ready to welcome families, friends, and neighbors for one of the city’s most anticipated evenings of the year. The annual Pines Night Out is set for Friday, October 24, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, located at 601 City Center Way. The event is free, open to all ages, and promises plenty of entertainment along with opportunities to connect with the people who serve and protect the community.

The three-hour gathering is about much more than food, music, and games—it’s designed to strengthen trust and unity between residents, law enforcement, and first responders. Pines Night Out has become a tradition where families can enjoy themselves while also learning more about safety and crime prevention. City leaders hope the evening will build stronger relationships that last long after the event ends.

Visitors can expect a lively atmosphere filled with activities. Children will find bounce houses, while adults can browse community displays and take advantage of health screenings. Costume contests will bring extra energy to the fall season, and music and food vendors will keep spirits high throughout the night. For those curious about the work of first responders, demonstrations from the Pembroke Pines Police Department and Fire Department will offer a close-up look.

Residents will also have the chance to meet members of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), the Crime Scene Unit, and Pooches in Pines, a group dedicated to helping lost or abandoned dogs in the city. Special showcases will feature the department’s armored Terradyne vehicle, dive boat, and motor units. K-9 demonstrations and fire truck tours are expected to be highlights for families who want to see the tools and skills officers and firefighters use every day.

Organizers chose October for the event in recognition of National Crime Prevention Month, first designated in 1984 to highlight the importance of personal safety and neighborhood awareness. Pines Night Out brings that national message to life on a local scale, reminding residents that crime prevention is strongest when the community and its protectors work hand in hand.

As officials point out, the event is about having fun, but it also carries a serious mission. By showcasing equipment, explaining safety programs, and engaging in friendly conversations, officers and firefighters aim to help residents feel more comfortable reaching out if they need help. Creating these bonds before emergencies happen can make a lasting difference.

Staying connected with city updates is also easier than ever. Residents can watch videos on Pembroke Pines Media through YouTube, read the city’s monthly digital newsletter NewsFlash, or explore the online newspaper City Connect. Updates are posted regularly on the city’s website at www.ppines.com, as well as its social media pages on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (@cityofppines). Those with Comcast can also tune in to Channel 78 for programming.

Whether it’s for the food trucks, the fire engine tours, or the simple chance to meet the officers who patrol their streets, residents are invited to come out and enjoy what promises to be an engaging and memorable evening. Pines Night Out is more than a block party—it’s a community’s way of coming together, celebrating safety, and building connections that matter.
