Vietnam Veterans Memorial Moving Wall will be on display at Bergeron Rodeo Grounds in Davie this April

Davie, Florida – The Town of Davie will host a powerful tribute to Vietnam War veterans this spring as the Vietnam Veterans Memorial “The Moving Wall” comes to the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds. The traveling memorial, a half-size replica of the iconic wall in Washington, D.C., will be on display from Friday, April 24 through Monday, April 27, 2026. Admission is free, and visitors can view the memorial around the clock during those dates.

The Moving Wall was first introduced in 1984 to bring the solemn experience of the original Vietnam Veterans Memorial to communities across the country. Over the years, it has toured extensively, allowing thousands of people to pay respects to the more than 58,000 men and women whose names are etched in honor on the wall. The replica’s size and design allow visitors to experience the same reflective and emotional connection as the original, while providing a more accessible option for those unable to travel to Washington, D.C.

“This traveling memorial gives people the chance to connect with the memory of those who served and sacrificed during the Vietnam War,” said organizers. Visitors to the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds will have the opportunity to locate the names of loved ones, pay tribute, and make free rubbings of the etched names – a tradition that allows families and friends to take home a personal memento of their visit.

Throughout the weekend, the memorial will host special presentations, including guest speakers and tributes to honor veterans. A detailed schedule of events will be released in the coming months, allowing visitors to plan their attendance around these special programs. Organizers hope that the combination of passive viewing and formal presentations will provide both reflection and education for the community.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Moving Wall is supported by The Veterans Coalition of Coral Springs, which will also be accepting donations to help fund future events and support for local veterans. Interested community members can contribute online or contact Philip Balem, Co-Chair, for more information.

“The Moving Wall is more than a replica; it is a chance for people of all ages to reflect on the sacrifices made by our veterans,” said event organizers. “It brings the national memorial experience directly to the community and encourages reflection, remembrance, and honor for those who served.”

This event offers a rare opportunity for the community to experience a nationally recognized memorial close to home, and organizers encourage everyone to attend, reflect, and honor the legacy of Vietnam War veterans.

By bringing the Moving Wall to Davie, the town and its partners aim to provide a deeply meaningful experience, connecting visitors with history and encouraging both remembrance and understanding of the sacrifices made by those who served in one of America’s most challenging conflicts.
