West Palm Beach, Florida – West Palm Beach is preparing for one of its biggest Independence Day celebrations yet, as the city announces the return of its signature waterfront event, “One Epic Fourth on Flagler,” set for Saturday, July 4. This year’s celebration carries added significance, marking 250 years of American independence and promising a larger, more immersive experience along the city’s downtown waterfront.

The free public event will take place from 5 to 10 p.m. along Flagler Drive, stretching from Banyan Boulevard to Fern Street. Organizers say the celebration will feature multiple entertainment zones, live performances, family activities, food and beverage vendors, and a brand-new visual highlight designed specifically for this milestone year.

A major addition for 2026 will be the debut of The Florida Crystals high-energy laser show, synchronized with an 18-minute fireworks display over the Intracoastal Waterway. City officials say the combination is designed to elevate the traditional fireworks experience into a more dynamic and modern show while still honoring the patriotic spirit of the holiday.

“Independence Day on our waterfront is one of West Palm Beach’s most cherished traditions, and this year it carries even greater meaning as we mark 250 years of American Independence,” said Mayor Keith A. James. “With a stunning new laser show to amplify our fireworks and live entertainment across three locations, there is no better place to celebrate America’s birthday than right here.”

The evening will begin with a patriotic ceremony recognizing members of the U.S. military, both past and present, followed by the national anthem. Adding a nostalgic touch to the opening program, The Swing Dolls will perform their signature 1940s-style harmonies. Known nationally as a tribute act inspired by the Andrews Sisters, the group has been entertaining audiences for more than 25 years with classic wartime-era music and vintage vocal arrangements.

Beyond the opening ceremony, the event will unfold across several entertainment zones, each offering a different atmosphere and experience for attendees.

At the main stage located at Flagler Drive and North Clematis Street, the NewDay USA Stage will feature Gotta Groove as the headline act. The seven-piece band is known for high-energy performances that span decades of R&B and classic hits. Their set is expected to keep crowds engaged with upbeat rhythms, strong vocals, and live instrumentation that blends familiar favorites with modern arrangements.

Nearby, the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Stage at the Meyer Amphitheater will cater to families and younger attendees. DJ Reflex will provide music throughout the evening while children’s activities run alongside the performances. Families can enjoy inflatable bounce houses and interactive games, with unlimited access available for $5 per person. In addition, free make-and-take Independence Day-themed crafts will be offered throughout the night, adding a hands-on creative element to the celebration.

At Post Park, located at 315 South Flagler Drive, the Palm Beach International Boat Show Stage will transform the area into a country-themed experience. DJ Kid Karter will perform live sets while guests take part in line dancing lessons and other themed activities. One of the more unique attractions will be mechanical bull rides, available for adults 18 and older at $5 per ride, adding a playful western-style twist to the waterfront festivities.

Alongside the entertainment, the annual BillBone 5K will return for its sixth year. The race begins at 7 p.m. near Post Park and benefits the Wounded Veteran Relief Fund. Organizers encourage participants and spectators to register or learn more at wpb.org/4th, noting that the run has become a meaningful part of the Independence Day tradition in West Palm Beach.

“4th on Flagler is the place to be for an epic Independence Day celebration,” said Angela Poco, Community Events Manager for the City of West Palm Beach. “This year we’re going all out to honor America’s 250th birthday. From a brand-new laser show to ensuring every detail is designed to bring our community together right here in our backyard, this event will be an incredible display of patriotism.”

City officials say the celebration regularly draws more than 75,000 attendees each year, making it one of the largest public gatherings in the region. With that level of turnout expected again, the city is encouraging guests to plan ahead for transportation and parking.

For those attending in person, blankets and lawn chairs are recommended to enjoy the waterfront views comfortably. Public parking will be available in city garages, with rates ranging from $5 to $30 depending on proximity to the event. The Sapodilla Garage will cost $5, Clematis $10, City Center $20, and the closest locations, Banyan and Evernia garages, will be $30.

For residents who prefer to experience the event from home, the fireworks and laser show will be broadcast live on WPBF from 9 to 9:30 p.m. as part of a special program titled “WPBF 25 Presents 4th on Flagler: Celebrating America250.” The broadcast is expected to bring the celebration to viewers across the region.

The event is produced by the City of West Palm Beach with support from a wide range of sponsors, including Florida Crystals, NewDay USA, Palm Beach International Boat Show, FPL, Chick-fil-A, and numerous local organizations, media outlets, and community partners. City officials say this broad collaboration helps make the large-scale event possible while keeping it free and accessible to the public.

As July 4 approaches, West Palm Beach is preparing for an evening that blends tradition with new technology, community pride, and large-scale entertainment. With its expanded programming and milestone theme, “One Epic Fourth on Flagler” is set to be more than just a fireworks show—it aims to be a citywide celebration of history, community, and a shared national moment.
