Pompano Beach, Florida – Pompano Beach is preparing for one of its most anticipated summer traditions as the city gears up for its largest Independence Day event of the year, the annual 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular. The celebration is set for Saturday, July 4, starting at 5:00 p.m. at the main beach near the Fisher Family Pier, where residents and visitors will gather for an evening filled with music, food, and patriotic celebration along the Atlantic shoreline.

This year’s event arrives at a meaningful moment, as communities across the United States begin reflecting on the upcoming 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding. In Pompano Beach, the holiday is being marked with a strong focus on unity, shared tradition, and community pride. City officials say the goal is to create a space where families, longtime residents, and visitors can come together to celebrate both the holiday and the spirit of the coastal city itself.

The atmosphere is expected to build steadily throughout the evening, with entertainment designed to keep energy high from the early hours until the final fireworks burst over the ocean. Hosted by Drew from Y100, the event will feature a steady mix of music and live performances aimed at all ages. DJ Mike Cooley will help set the tone early, keeping the crowd engaged with a continuous flow of upbeat tracks as the beach fills with families and groups settling in for the night.

As the sun begins to lower over the horizon, live music will take center stage. Surfin’ Rascals – A Beach Boys Tribute Band will bring a wave of nostalgic summer sounds, delivering classic surf rock hits that fit naturally with the beachfront setting. Later in the evening, JAM-X will shift the mood with a high-energy set featuring popular R&B favorites, adding a modern edge to the celebration and keeping the crowd moving as anticipation builds for the night’s main event.

The celebration will reach its peak at approximately 9:00 p.m., when a large fireworks display will launch over the Atlantic Ocean. The show is expected to light up the sky with a synchronized burst of color, serving as a dramatic finale to the city’s Independence Day festivities. Officials describe it as a symbolic salute to the nation, designed to close the evening with a shared moment of reflection and celebration.

Residents are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and their own sense of holiday spirit. Red, white, and blue attire is strongly encouraged as families gather along the shoreline. At the same time, city officials are reminding attendees of important safety rules. Personal fireworks, glass containers, alcohol, personal drones, and pets are not permitted at the event, in an effort to keep the large crowd safe and comfortable throughout the evening.

The festivities actually begin a day earlier, offering an extended holiday experience for the community. On Friday, July 3, the city will host a special Independence Day Weekend edition of Music Under the Stars. The event will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Pompano Beach Great Lawn, located at the corner of Pompano Beach Boulevard and Atlantic Boulevard.

That evening will feature live entertainment from The Rumbletones, a band known for its energetic tribute to 1950s and 1960s rock ‘n’ roll. Their performance is expected to bring a retro atmosphere to the beachside lawn, blending rockabilly rhythms with vintage American style. City officials say the event is designed to offer a more relaxed but still festive start to the holiday weekend, giving residents another opportunity to enjoy live music in an open-air setting.

Guests attending Music Under the Stars are also encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and settle in for a casual evening of music and community gathering. Unlike the main fireworks event, this early celebration focuses more on laid-back enjoyment, giving families a chance to unwind before the larger crowds arrive on July 4.

To prepare for the main event, the city has also outlined several logistical updates. The Fisher Family Pier will be closed on Saturday, July 4, reopening with regular hours on Sunday, July 5. Parking options will include areas at the end of Atlantic Boulevard and A1A, the pier garage, and designated street parking locations throughout the surrounding area.

Traffic adjustments will also be in place for safety. Beginning at 8:45 p.m., eastbound vehicular access to the barrier island will be temporarily closed during the fireworks show. Roads will reopen once the display is complete, though pedestrian access will remain available throughout the evening to ensure attendees can move safely along the beachfront.

For those planning to attend, the city is encouraging early arrival due to expected crowds and limited parking. Officials also recommend checking updates in advance at www.parks.pompanobeachfl.gov/july4 for any last-minute changes or additional information.

With music, fireworks, and a full weekend of community events, Pompano Beach is aiming to deliver a celebration that blends tradition with entertainment. From the first note on July 3 to the final burst of fireworks on July 4, the city is preparing for a holiday that brings people together under one sky, right along its shoreline.
