Parking at Hollywood City Hall will be limited from May 6 through May 8 due to Employee Appreciation Event

Hollywood, Florida – Visitors to Hollywood City Hall may want to plan ahead early next week, as parking availability will be significantly reduced due to a special employee celebration. From Tuesday, May 6 through Thursday, May 8, 41 parking spaces at City Hall will be temporarily blocked off for the City’s annual “Lunch on the Lawn” event.

The event is part of Public Service Recognition Week, a national tradition that honors the hard work and dedication of public servants across all levels of government. In Hollywood, city officials use this time each year to celebrate the employees who help keep the city functioning day in and day out. “Lunch on the Lawn” is a small but meaningful gesture of appreciation for these essential workers.

With the festivities taking place on-site, parking near City Hall will be limited throughout the three-day period. This may pose an inconvenience for residents or visitors planning to attend public meetings or conduct business at the building. The City encourages anyone planning a visit to allow extra time to find parking and consider alternative options.

To help ease the disruption, overflow parking will be available in a vacant lot directly west of 2717 Van Buren Street. This lot is just a short walk from City Hall and will serve as a convenient alternative for those unable to find space in the main parking area.

City officials are asking for the public’s patience during this time. “We appreciate your understanding as we recognize our hardworking City staff,” the City shared in a public notice. “Thank you for your patience and cooperation.”

The City of Hollywood encourages residents to join in celebrating the efforts of public servants, whether by attending the event, sending a thank-you note, or simply offering kind words to city employees.

While the limited parking may cause brief inconvenience, the event is a reminder of the people behind the scenes who serve the community every day.
