Pine Crest Upper School students showcase innovation at Diamond Challenge Limitless World Summit with global competition success
Pine Crest, Florida – A group of ambitious high school students is proving that age is no barrier when it comes to tackling real-world problems. Recently, students from Pine Crest Upper School’s Social Entrepreneurship Program stepped onto a global stage, earning a place at the Diamond Challenge Limitless World Summit—an international event that brings together young innovators from across the world.
The summit, a three-day gathering, is more than just a competition. It serves as a meeting ground for ideas, where students participate in workshops, panel discussions, and fast-paced innovation sessions. It is a space designed to push creative thinking while connecting participants with peers who share a common goal: finding solutions to some of today’s most pressing challenges.
For the Pine Crest students, qualifying for the summit was already a significant achievement. But once there, they did not simply participate—they stood out.
Among the highlights was the success of Team HeadStart, made up of Georgia Kolettis ’27, Edward Wang ’27, Alejandro Forner Ibanez ’27, and Alexa Marino ’27. Their work earned them the W. L. Gore & Associates Innovation Excellence Prize, a recognition given to teams that demonstrate how technology can meaningfully improve lives.

Their idea focused on a problem that affects millions of people worldwide—migraines. Rather than addressing the issue after symptoms begin, the team set out to predict migraines before they happen. Their approach blends advanced technology with practical application, using machine learning, artificial intelligence, and predictive modeling to analyze patterns in the human body.
At the center of their innovation is a wearable device designed to monitor physiological signals. By examining data such as blood flow, heart rate variability, and other biometric indicators through photoplethysmography, the device can identify early warning signs. The goal is simple in concept but complex in execution: give users time to act before a migraine fully develops.
The project reflects the kind of thinking encouraged within Pine Crest’s three-year Social Entrepreneurship Program. Students are not only taught how to build ideas, but how to align those ideas with real human needs. It is a blend of business, technology, and social impact—an approach that prepares them for challenges far beyond the classroom.
At the summit, that preparation became evident. Students had the opportunity to engage with a global network of young entrepreneurs, exchanging ideas and learning from different perspectives. The environment was both competitive and collaborative, pushing participants to refine their concepts while remaining open to new insights.
Beyond the awards, the experience itself carries lasting value. Events like the Diamond Challenge Limitless World Summit offer students a rare chance to test their ideas on an international platform. They also provide exposure to the realities of innovation—where creativity must meet practicality, and where solutions must be both effective and scalable.
For Team HeadStart, the recognition is a milestone, but it also signals something larger. It shows that meaningful innovation can come from unexpected places, including high school classrooms. Their work on migraine prediction highlights how emerging technologies can be used not just for advancement, but for improving quality of life.
As the students return from the summit, they bring with them more than just an award. They carry new knowledge, expanded networks, and a deeper understanding of what it takes to turn an idea into impact.
And perhaps most importantly, they leave with proof that even at an early stage, their ideas can resonate on a global level.
