Pine Crest, Florida – Student-athletes from Pine Crest School have earned major recognition this winter, with several names appearing on postseason lists released by the Sun Sentinel. The annual selections highlight standout performers across multiple sports, naming first and second team athletes as well as an extended group of honorable mentions.

Each year at the end of the season, the Sun Sentinel evaluates high school athletes across the county, identifying those who delivered the strongest performances in their respective sports. The recognition is highly competitive, with only a limited number of students earning placement on first and second teams. Others who showed strong consistency or impact throughout the season are listed as honorable mentions.

This year, Pine Crest saw representation across wrestling, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, and girls weightlifting. The breadth of sports reflects the school’s wide athletic program and the depth of talent across different age groups.

Leading the First Team selections was Andrew Chen ’27, recognized in wrestling for a standout season that placed him among the top performers in the county. His achievement marked one of the highest individual honors among Pine Crest athletes this winter.

The Second Team included a strong group of Panthers across multiple sports. In boys basketball, Rowan Hoffman ’26 and Alex Jenkins ’28 were both selected, joined by Maci Nitowski ’28 from girls basketball. Boys soccer was represented by Bradley Chung ’26 and Louis Hansen ’28, while Mia Falcon ’28 and Valentina Thomas ’30 earned recognition in girls soccer. Wrestling standout Jake Lobis ’26 also secured a Second Team spot, rounding out a diverse list of athletes across disciplines.

The Honorable Mention list was even more extensive, highlighting the depth of talent across the school’s programs. In boys basketball, Karl Mullins ’28 and Kaden Mullins ’30 were recognized. Girls basketball included Akasha Abdolmohammadyion ’28 and Hailey Holland ’26. Boys soccer saw multiple selections, including Tristan Bez ’27, Nicholas Chung ’28, Noah Goldfaden ’27, Evan Rhine ’26, and Dean Shiff ’26. Girls soccer featured Karlie Arkins ’27, Dylan Chavez ’26, Dani Fordin ’26, Olivia Mukamal ’30, and Sanni Wilson ’28.

Additional honors went to Caterina Farrell ’26 and Maddie Lemieux ’29 in girls weightlifting, as well as Sam Brown ’29 and Ethan Stone ’26 in wrestling, further showing the strength of the school’s athletic programs beyond the more visible team sports.

While the list is long, what stands out is the range of ages and experience levels represented. From younger athletes just beginning their high school careers to seniors closing out their final seasons, the recognition reflects steady development across multiple years.

For Pine Crest, the honors are not just individual achievements but also a reflection of the broader culture within the athletics program—one built on training, discipline, and steady improvement over time. The variety of sports and grade levels included in this year’s Sun Sentinel selections shows a program that continues to produce competitive athletes across the board.

As the winter season closes, the Panthers can look back on a year filled with strong performances and well-earned recognition.
