The Wheel in Motion financial literacy series announces June and July lineup
Pompano Beach, Florida – As Pompano Beach continues to grow through major development projects and increasing economic activity, city leaders are turning attention toward preparing residents for the changes ahead. With a $2 billion New Downtown project rising alongside new waves of business investment, officials say the focus is not only on growth, but also on making sure local families can benefit from it.
To support that goal, the City of Pompano Beach, in partnership with the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and Lotus Mindset, is launching a new round of free educational programming through The Wheel in Motion Financial Literacy Series. The June and July schedule has now been announced, offering residents a structured path to improve financial knowledge, strengthen household stability, and build long-term wealth strategies.
Presented by Kandice Witherspoon of Legacy Financial Firm, the series is designed as a practical, hands-on learning experience. Organizers describe it as more than a lecture format, instead focusing on tools and steps that participants can apply immediately in their personal financial lives. Topics range from credit repair to estate planning and generational wealth building.
The program is open to the public at no cost, with sessions hosted at local community venues and available both in-person and through livestream options. Residents are encouraged to RSVP in advance to secure materials and access links.
June sessions will focus on credit, a key factor in financial opportunity for most households. The opening class, scheduled for June 3 at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center, is titled Repairing Damaged Credit: Practical Strategies. It will guide attendees through legal and structured approaches to addressing negative marks on credit reports, correcting errors, and building a plan for financial recovery.

Later in the month, on June 17 at the McNair Recreation Center, the focus shifts to Leveraging and Maintaining Credit. This session is designed for individuals who are already rebuilding or maintaining their credit profiles. It will cover how to protect a strong credit score, avoid common financial mistakes, and use credit strategically for housing and investment opportunities.
July moves the conversation into long-term planning and wealth protection. The first session, scheduled for July 1 at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center, is titled Why Estate Planning Is Not Just for the Wealthy. It aims to challenge common misconceptions about estate planning and explain how legal documentation can protect families and ensure that personal wishes are respected.
On July 15, also at the McNair Recreation Center, participants will attend Wills, Trusts, and Power of Attorney Explained. This class breaks down essential legal tools in simple terms, helping residents understand how these documents protect assets and decision-making rights in times of need.
The final session of the series, set for July 29 at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center, is called Building a Legacy Plan (The Finale). It brings together the concepts from earlier classes and focuses on long-term financial planning, generational wealth goals, and strategies for building stability that can extend beyond a single household.
Organizers emphasize that the series is designed not just as education, but as empowerment. With rising development and economic activity across Pompano Beach, the goal is to ensure residents are equipped with the knowledge needed to make informed financial decisions.
“Empowerment begins with an RSVP,” organizers noted in promotional material, encouraging community members to take advantage of the free opportunity.
Residents interested in attending can review full class details, register for individual sessions, or request livestream access through the official Wheel in Motion Financial Literacy Series page. Questions and direct support requests can also be sent to [email protected].
As the city continues to evolve, leaders say programs like this are intended to help ensure that growth is shared, understood, and accessible to everyone in the community.
